Custom Steel Design and Build

When standard systems don’t apply, Battle Born Steel designs and builds custom structural and miscellaneous steel to fit the project. Our design-build approach brings fabrication expertise into the process early, so constructability, lead time, and budget are addressed before the first cut is made.

When custom design-build makes sense

• Non-standard structures
  Spans, connections, or geometry that off-the-shelf systems can’t accommodate.
• Architectural features
  Feature stairs, railings, gates, and exposed structural elements where appearance matters.
• Tight or complex sites
  Projects that need field verification, phased sequencing, or coordination with multiple trades.

Our design-build process

• 1. Concept & consultation
  We review your goals, drawings, and site conditions and advise on the most constructable approach.
• 2. Engineering & shop drawings
  We produce stamped shop drawings and submittals for approval before fabrication.
• 3. Fabrication
  Steel is fabricated in-shop in line with AWS D1.1 and AISC standards.
• 4. Installation
  Our AISC-certified erection crews install on site, including on active and occupied projects.
